NLL FINALS MVP: IAN MACKAY

Collaborative role: Logo, Brand identity, Social media graphics

In January of 2025, I was given the opportunity to link up with Ian MacKay, star transition player of the Buffalo Bandits, as he was looking to build his brand up. I have since become his personal graphic designer, building an ongoing collaborative relationship with Ian as he recently played his way to becoming a 3x NLL champion, and winning his first Finals MVP in the 2024-2025 season.

I developed Ian’s logo mark through a series of sketches, along with integrating separate ideas from him as well. The logo went through a couple of iterations before we finally reached our eureka moment. We had initially played with ideas of integrating a Swiss army knife as he is commonly called such within the lacrosse world, but finally landed on simplicity and dotting the “i” with a lacrosse stick head.

When the 2025 NLL Playoffs rolled around, I reached out to Ian about doing a series of posters to pub each game of the playoffs to his followers on Instagram. Obviously busy with focusing on staying on top of his game for yet another championship push, he excitedly green-lit the series.

What initially jumpstarted our collaborative relationship was Ian wanting an Electronic Press Kit for branding purposes.
